Ford Takes Racing Fans Back in Time with the All-New 2017 Ford GT
Ford is flashing back to 1966 to honor Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon’s Le Mans win that year in the GT40 Mark II race car. Look for the 2017 Ford GT in a limited edition Heritage theme as a tribute to the 1966 historical chain of victories. The themed sports car will be unique from the interior and exterior colors down to the steering wheel finish.
Exterior options for the Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition are Shadow Black with either a gloss or matte finish along with silver stripes and a carbon fiber package. This limited edition sports car can also be recognized by its Frozen White #2 graphics on the hood and car doors and the 20 inch copied aluminum wheels, with a gold satin clearcoat and black lug nuts.
The Heritage Edition Ford GT also mirrors the interior of the 1966 race car with carbon-fiber Ebony leather seats, displaying the Ford GT logo on the headrests and steering wheel. The Ebony-leather wrap is also found on the instrument panel, pillars, and headliner of the interior. Even the webbed blue seat belts are included in this 2017 limited-edition sports car.
Though the look of the 2017 Ford GT is modeled after the GT40 Mark II race car, designers have used new styling cues to modernize the car. For Ford, there is no better way to celebrate the anniversary of the 1966 Le Mans Ford GT victories, then with this incredible tribute car.
