New Scholarship Created by Quick Lane to Benefit Veterans

Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center released details about a new initiative called “Trading One Uniform For Another”, which is a collaboration with Disabled American Veterans (DAV) that awards scholarships to U.S. military veterans towards a certification in automotive maintenance and repair.

To help veterans gain the skills they need to become automotive technicians, Quick Lane plans to award five veterans $10,000 scholarships. These funds are allowed to be used towards tuition, books and fees at any community college, university, trade or vocational school in the U.S. with an accredited program in automotive mechanics.

You can begin the nomination of a veteran by writing a short essay on why your nominee is a deserving recipient.

November 2016 is Military Appreciation Month and Quick Lane and DAV will announce the finalists and then invite everyone to vote for a finalist to receive a scholarship.

Quick Lane and DAV will announce the five scholarship recipients at this year’s Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit.
