Mulally, served as top boss of Ford from 2006-2014.
Alan Mulally was chosen as a keynote speaker for this year’s conference and received the Alltech Medal of Excellence for his ability to create a strong team focused on a single objective that led to the resurrection of one of the all-time great brands: Ford. The Medal of Excellence is Alltech’s highest distinction, awarded annually to someone of great achievement and character. Previous honorees include former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and agricultural leaders such as Norman Borlaug, the “father of the Green Revolution.”
Mulally is best known for leading Ford’s transformation into the number-one automobile brand in the United States. He guided the company through implementation of the One Ford plan, a compelling vision and comprehensive strategy to deliver profitable growth for all of the company’s stakeholders. In 2006, when Mulally was appointed president and CEO, he led the Ford Motor Company out of an enormous crisis, including a $12.7 billion loss, downgrade in stock-value and brand mismanagement, then remarkably made Ford the only American car manufacturer to not accept a bailout from the United States government.
